Requisites for Excellent Inhibitors:
- Easy solubility in dilute and/or concentrated acid solutions.
- High degree of protection to base metal at an economically feasible concentration.
- Excellent resistance to breakdown from heat, pressure, or high electrolyte concentration.
- A strong mixture of polar substances having a great affinity to the metal.
- No tendency to stain or cling to metal when rinsed.
- Ability to degrade in an acid regeneration process.
